English Colonial Series
Traditional Timber Frame Kits Inspired by Early American Craftsmanship
The English Colonial Series draws inspiration from the straightforward, enduring timber-frame architecture found throughout New England and the rural Northeast. Defined by clean rooflines, practical proportions, and traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, these frames reflect the character of early American barns, workshops, carriage houses, and homesteads that have stood for generations.
After years of studying traditional timber framing alongside experienced craftsmen in the New England region, I developed a deep appreciation for the timeless methods and structural simplicity that define authentic colonial timber-frame construction. The designs offered in this series stay true to those principles — practical, durable, and built with respect for traditional craftsmanship.
Each frame is produced using traditional heavy-timber joinery methods, including precision-cut mortise-and-tenon connections, carefully finished exposed edges, and quality timber-frame detailing throughout. Shop drawings, post anchors, and all necessary wood-to-wood fasteners are included with every package.
To ensure dependable lead times and consistent craftsmanship, Valley Creek Timber Frames works alongside experienced timber-frame shops that share the same commitment to traditional building methods and quality construction.
